Good day how are you all? Today am going to teach you how to Convert your FAT drive to NTFS manually without using any software.

WHAT IS FAT?

FAT is an acronym that stands for File Allocating Table its the default drive type that comes with most usb pen drive, sd card, etc

WHAT IS NTFS?

NTFS (New Technology File System) is the standard file

system of Windows NT,including its later versions.

Convert FAT – NTFS :-

REQUIREMENTS; A computer running a windows os, any version.

Well charged battery or reliable ac power.

What Else? Lets roll!!

CAUTION; PLEASE MAKE A RELIABLE AND WELL UPDATED BACKUP OF FILES FROM THE DRIVE YOU ARE CONVERTING TO NTFS.

If you have done that which i stated above then we are ready to go.

To convert a FAT partition to NTFS, perform the following steps.

1) Open ‘Command Prompt’.

2) At the command prompt, type the following-

CONVERT [driveletter]: /FS:NTFS.

eg: CONVERT F: /FS:NTFS

(THEN PRESS ENTER)

‘Convert.exe’ will attempt to convert the partition to NTFS.

3) During conversion it might take more time to convert due to the size of the Drive.

NOTE :- Although the chance of corruption or data loss during the conversion from FAT to NTFS is minimal, it is best to perform a full backup of the data on the drive that it is to be converted prior to executing the convert command.
