Windows Doesn’t provide easy to use built in tool , through which you can check your

S.M.A.R.T Data. You will have to use a third party tool to view this Information.

But There is also a trick through Command prompt.

 

CHECK S.M.A.R.T. SOFTWARE.

CrystalDiskInfo Is an Easy to use program that can display your S.M.A.R.T. Status that is reported by Your Hard Drive in Windows.

Download it from HERE,

After Downloading. install it, if it ask to download hotspot shield while installing, just uncheck that box.

Once Installed, launch the application to check the S.M.A.R.T. Status of your Hard Drive.if everything is working alright then it should show the status GOOD.It also Displays other info like Temperature and other hardware specifications.

CHECK S.M.A.R.T. WITH COMMAND PROMPT.

You can also check This INFO by using CMD without Installing Third Party Software.

Open Command Prompt Window. (Start> Run > Type cmd and press enter.

Now in Command prompt Type the following command.

wmic

diskdrive get status

It should like the below pic.

If everything is alright then it will show you OK status. Any other status means its having some issues getting S.M.A.R.T status.

Tip= I recommend to have a up to date Backup of all your useful data from your Hard drive as Hard Drive can Fail any time.

Backup your data in external hard disk or Burn Disk.
